HO Skis

(1/1)

2012 HO Syndicate A2 Ski - Blank w/Fin

The Syndicate A1 evolved, its design refined over two seasons of professional and amateur tournament domination. The Syndicate A2 employs all new Variable Concave Technology providing maximum speed and angle with safety to match. Traditional skis use one concave radius along their entire length. With the A2 this concave radius changes: larger radius and shallower concave depth in the tail for increased speed, smaller radius and deeper concave depth under the boots for maximum angle creation and back to a larger radius in the tip to keep the front of the ski up and moving without excess tip bite. Larger radii create lift fore and aft of the boot region and act as an Auto-Centering safety for the skier. When too far back at the finish of the turn, the increased tail lift helps to drive the ski tip down thereby allowing the skier to accelerate sooner off the buoy and stay in the pass. When the skier climbs over the front of the ski at the finish of the turn increased tip lift allows the ski to continue to move through the finish of the turn without stopping or overturning due to excess tip bite. Feel the difference on the water and ride what champions ride.

2012 HO Syndicate S2 Ski - Blank w/Fin

Asher, Travers and Brown ski 36mph. The LaPoint’s, Badal and Nowlan ski 34mph. But they all like winning tournaments. Meet the all-new 2012 Syndicate S2. Designed for the fast, low drag ride that Big Dawgs covet, the S2 has a quicker turn shape than the A2 while still maintaining the stability Syndicate skis are known for. Speed is created by a combination of Step Concave technology and all new Low Taper Shape. Step Concave technology introduces micro steps running down the concave surface on the bottom of the ski. These micro steps free the water molecules that adhere to the wetted surfaces of a traditional ski and give the S2 the low drag, fast ride skiers dream of. The second ingredient is the all new Low Taper shape. Traditional water skis have a large amount of taper from the wide point of the ski towards a narrow tail. The S2 has a Low Taper shape that narrows at a much slower rate thereby increasing the amount of surface area in the back half of the ski. As a result when a skier makes an aggressive turn and a traditional ski stops, looses it forward momentum, and gets stuck ‘in a hole” before accelerating the S2 has the surface area to support aggressive turn and keep driving the ski forward for instant acceleration. Less stop and go skiing, and a more efficient line is achieved on the all new S2.

2012 HO Coefficient X Superlite Ski - Blank w/Fin

Coefficient X -- eXperimentation with reducing skis' Coefficient of Drag

The single largest difference between the skis of the future and the skis of ten years ago is the amount of physical effort required by the skier to ride them. As water skiing evolves from a fight between boat and equipment to an efficient harmony between man and machine, so must the equipment. The Coefficient X introduces the first major departure from the traditional concave bottom ski of the last 70 years; Step Concave Technology. When a traditional ski moves through the water it drags along with it a layer of water molecules that stick to the bottom of the ski. In the science world, it is known as boundary layer theory. The Step Concave introduces a very small amount of turbulence into the concave, which interrupts the boundary layer, freeing the water molecules and thereby allowing the ski to move through the water with a decreased Coefficient of Drag. The result is a more efficient ski shape that minimizes the amount of physical effort required by the skier so he or she can enjoy longer more efficient ski rides.

The Coefficient X also employs a 7% smaller bevel than the Syndicate A1. This helps to lift the ski out of the water for reduced drag and permits the proper amount of on water slide skiers need to dictate when, where and how aggressively they turn.

The Coefficient X achieves its unparallel stability by utilizing a significantly deeper concave, pintail geometry and 5-Stage rocker line. Each of these design elements holds the ski to the water surface, so the step concave and smaller bevel design can dictate the line between carve and slide for the ultimate slalom course of free skiing line.

The Syndicate Team was so intrigued by the Coefficient X design, HO decided to offer it in two different constructions. The SuperLite (SL) utilizes the polyvinylchloride foam core technology of the Syndicate Program skis and 90/10 Carbon/Fiberglass construction for the most advanced core technology available with just a touch of dampening. The standard Coefficient X is built out of the exact same molds as the SL, but has a more traditional 50/50 carbon/fiberglass construction and a polyurethane core. Each ski is handmade in the HO Factory, Redmond, WA.

2012 HO Syndicate Team Ski - Blank w/Fin (Kid's)

The future of water skiing lies with the next generation of young rippers on your lake. The Syndicate Team wanted to give the stars of tomorrow the ski they need to take water skiing into a new era. The result is our Future Series is the A1 Team. A very special ski designed by Bob LaPoint, the A1 team is not just a scaled down version of an A1. The A1 Team is a unique blend between the stability elements of the A1 and the low drag, reduced physical effort ride of the S1, fine tuned for kids’ reduced boat speed and slalom course lines. The A1 Team is a skiers ski and performance was not scarified in any detail; in fact, the A1 Team is built with the same 100% carbon fiber construction and polyvinyl chloride foam core as the A1 in a softer, kids-specific flex pattern. The A1 Team is offered in a 62” length, comes standard with a fully adjustable Syndicate fin block and is handmade in Redmond, WA.

2012 HO Couture Ski - Blank w/Fin (Womens's)

In the past few years our Women’s Team, or Couture Collective, have been pushing us to design a ski specifically for them. The Couture comes from the 65” Coefficient X mold, a decision made by April Coble & Breanne Wagner because it delivers what they have been seeking. The Couture utilizes our Step Concave Technology which drastically reduces drag and the amount of physical effort required to ski it. The Step Concave introduces a very small amount of turbulence into the concave, which interrupts the boundary layer, freeing the water molecules and thereby allowing the ski to move through the water with a decreased Coefficient of Drag. The result is a more efficient ski shape that minimizes the amount of physical effort required by the skier so she can enjoy longer more efficient ski rides.

The Couture Team also demanded a departure from old school thinking on women’s ski shapes. The past philosophy of wider skis to accommodate the slower speed was tossed out the window. Our team specified a traditional width slalom ski that cuts through the wakes as apposed to bouncing over them. The Couture delivers.

The Couture achieves its unparallel stability by utilizing a significantly deeper concave, pintail geometry and 5-Stage rocker line. Each of these design elements holds the ski to the water surface, so the step concave and smaller bevel design can dictate the line between carve and slide.

Combine these features with a women’s specific construction and flex pattern and you get the Couture. A ski developed by our Couture Team from start to finish. Even the graphics were designed by a member of the team, a look fashioned after their tastes and desires. Break free from tradition and hop on the Couture for the ultimate slalom course of free skiing experience.

2012 HO Triumph Ski - Blank w/Fin

If you are one of those skiers trying to maximize performance out of your 10-year old shred stick you owe it to yourself to ride the all new, completely redesigned 2012 Triumph. The new Triumph uses a combination of Step Concave technology, Over-Sized shape and Syndicate thoroughbred linage to create the highest performance shaped ski in its class. As a traditional ski moves through the water it drags with it a thin layer of water molecules that cling to the ski’s bottom contributing significantly to ski drag. The Step Concave design uses a number of micro steps along the bottom concave which disrupt the water molecules, freeing them from the ski’s wetted surface resulting in reduced drag and less physically demanding ski rides. The high performance Syndicate inspired Hybrid Concave design, 50% carbon fiber construction and the peace of mind that each ski is hand built in the USA ensures the all new Triumph has no equal from dawn patrol sets to INT National Championships.
