Information when purchasing a kneeboard

The water sports kneeboarding is a variant of the popular water sports wakeboarding / water skiing. As with this sport, the person on the kneeboard is pulled forward by a rope. The difference compared to wakeboarding is that you do not stand on your kneeboard but sit on your knees. Kneeboarding is a fun activity for both beginners and advanced. Below there is an explanation of the most important features of a kneeboard.

The difference between the different models of wakeboards in the range is the way the board is made. Kneeboards are produced in two different ways:

Compression molded kneeboard

A compression Molded kneeboard is pressed together, which gives the board better buoyancy. This gives the board more speed and makes the kneeboard more controllable on the waves.

Rotomolded kneeboard

A rotomolded kneeboard is made with a hollow core, this core is filled with PU. The disadvantage of Rotomolded is that compared to a compression molted kneeboard the buoyancy is less. However, rotomolded kneeboards have the advantage of being cheaper than a compression molted kneeboard.

Rocker Line

The rocker line, also known as the shape of the kneeboard, largely determines the sailing characteristics of the kneeboard. This is very important when buying a kneeboard. There are two types of rockers: continuous rocker and 3-stage rocker. The differences between these types of rockers is explained below.

Continuous rocker

The continuous rocker has a round shape (curved shape). Kneeboards with a continuous rocker stand for a fast and smooth ride and let you run with ease. These kneeboards provide speed and a predictable pop (height).

3 stage rocker

A 3-stage rocker kneeboard has three separate planes on the bottom of the board. A 3-stage rocker ensures that a kneeboard gets more pop (height). Kneeboards with a 3-stage rocker have a flat spot (center of the board) that gives a sticky feeling after landing. These kneeboards are usually a bit slower when boarding.
